Guy Kawasaki was Apple’s Chief Evangelist Officer in the 1980s. He was responsible for generating a lot of the marketing techniques Apple used to rise. Time to go to France

It’s been about 10 years since I’ve been in France. It’s time to go back. My parents are renting a house in the town of Aups. I was able to get trips both way paid for with frequent flier miles. So here I sit waiting for my drier to ding so I can pack. Here’s where I’m going:

Because I’m using frequent flier miles the trip there is going to be a challenge. I’m waking up at 5:00 am to go to the Shuttle. Flight leaves at 7:45. Flight to Charlotte, Flight to Toronto, Flight to Paris. I’m lucky enough to stay in Paris over night and meet up with my parents and sister before I fly to Marseilles. Then a bit of a drive and we’ll be there. A little crazy, but I’m always up for an adventure.

I have my iPad loaded up with bad movies, the first 2 books of Game of Thrones and Laptop and a pillow. I’ll be taking pictures along the way and will have access to the internet, so I’ll be posting as I go. Hopefully this will work a little better than India, which I still haven’t posted most of.

Nickelodeon Animation Studios’s has been nice enough to send me half way around the world to meet with one of our overseas studios. It is an exciting opportunity getting getting to experience another culture first hand and I’m very excited. Tomorrow a driver, sent by Emirates Airlines, will pick me up and take me to LAX. I’ll fly to Dubai, and from there we’ll head to Bangalore.

I don’t really know what to expect so I’m not going to speculate. I will however be bringing my camera and my laptop to record the experience and to share it with all of you. What I will not be bringing is my, “Eat Meat. Repeat.” T-shirt from Meat Week 2009 – something tells me that would be disrespectful. Thanks for reading, tune in for more after the break.

Facebook’s New Send Button

Facebook has implemented a new feature you should know about. It’s called a send button.

How It Works
The Send button is a social plugin that websites can use to let people send a link to a friend through Facebook Messages, post it to a Group, or email it to an individual. For example, if you see a Mother’s Day gift idea on 1-800-Flowers.com, you can now send a message or email to your family members to discuss. Or say you’re training for a marathon and you come across a great article about running shoes on The Huffington Post. Now you can share it with your entire running group in just one click. Facebook Status App Reaches 490 Users!

490 Users So far in the First Month!

Well it looks like my Facebook App will hit 500 Monthly users in it’s first month!

I thought it would only see 40-70 users ever. The social network does work!

The App let’s a user see all of the Status Updates they’ve posted on facebook back to 2009. Facebook started logging status messages in June of 2009, which is why we can only go back that far. I’m working a little every week to add new features and evolve the App that was supposed to be an experiment!

Your iPhone is Secretly Tracking You

The Story

So it turns out your iPhone is secretly tracking you. Sure, you respond, I know the iPhone has a GPS tracker inside it. Every now and then, you think, it asks for permission to see send my location to an app. Then you dismiss the Orwellian conspiracy theory that the device is actually always on, and always tracking your location. Well… as it turns out it is.

Apparently some people much smarter than me found a database file on the phone that is literally being written too every time you change locations. The good news is, your logging your location on facebook and foursquare all the time anyway, so who cares.

So Where Have You Been?

So if you’re curious about where you’ve been in the past year, you should download this App and give it a whirl. I did it, it’s easy it’s fast and it’s not sending your data anywhere. As far as I’m concerned Pete Warden is rad and deserves a lot of credit for writing this thing.

Bill Hader as James Carville

Bill Hader’s appearances on ‘The Weekend Update’ are the funniest things ever. On April 9th, 2011 he appeared as James Carville and went as crazy as he does Stephon. I couldn’t stop laughing when he said this:

So here is what I’m gonna do. I’m gonna break into John Boehner’s car and leave a black butterfly in there. That way he knows he’s been marked as my prey. Then I’ll spend the night crouched under the sink in his bathroom. It’s not hard for me because I can coil myself up… because I was raised by eels. Then the next morning when he’s in the shower. I’m skinny enough I can just pop my head up through the ground like a skeleton in a jack in the box….yaaahh. That’s how we passed health care.
